A longtime resident of California, Peter Laufenberg completed his undergraduate and graduate education at the University of California at Berkeley, developing a special focus in commercial insurance law. He practiced for seven years at Crosby Heafey Roach & May, PC, a well-known insurance firm based in Oakland, representing insurance companies in coverage and bad faith lawsuits brought by policyholders. After becoming a partner at Crosby Heafey, he joined Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean, LLP in 2004, where he brought his past experience representing insurers to the service of commercial policyholders.
Peter Laufenberg has advised and litigated on behalf of various large-cap firms, real estate insurance trusts, and Fortune 500 firms. With a special interest in wrap insurance, Peter Laufenberg has worked with institutional and commercial clients to manage and transfer risk in numerous large-scale real estate development projects. He has successfully represented policyholders in coverage disputes against major insurance companies, achieving 100% recoveries and settlements in multimillion-dollar cases.
Peter Laufenberg is a current member of the American and Alameda County Bar Associations, as well as the California Land Title Association. Aside from his professional activities, he serves as a board member of the Ann Martin Center, a nonprofit committed to providing psychotherapy and educational support to children in Alameda County.
